Orthopaedic Resident/Intern - Canada

Helpful review. I wonder what confounders were at play with the larger studies that reported inconclusive results. There appears to be a substantial benefit reducing acute and chronic pain. I’ve seen it’s benefits in ALS patients who have reduced neuropathic disturbances and reduced anxiety associated with the rapid deterioration experienced. Given that Canada entered a devastating exponential “Mg per capita” curve of opioid use just over 5 years ago, research here could save many lives from the atrocious morbidity and mortality associated with that class of medications.
