Synopsis
53 patients presenting with distal radial fractures were randomized to management using open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) or external fixation and percutaneous pinning. Internal fixation was accomplished using either a dorsal plate or a volar locking plate. ORIF provided significantly lower scores on the patient-reported wrist evaluation (PRWE).
