Synopsis
Three trials (300 patients) were identified to examine whether above or below-elbow cast was the most optimal conservative treatment for fractures of the distal third forearm. This meta-analysis concluded that below-elbow cast (BEC) was not inferior to above-elbow cast (AEC) and could be considered a valid treatment option for distal third forearm fractures.
