Synopsis
Ninety patients with fifth metacarpal neck fractures were randomized to receive either conservative treatment using an ulnar gutter slab (n=45) or transverse pinning (n=45). Outcomes of interest were the rate of fracture union, functional outcomes measured by the Quick DASH score, total active motion (TAM), total active flexion (TAF), and complication rates.
