Synopsis

Ninety patients with fifth metacarpal neck fractures were randomized to receive either conservative treatment using an ulnar gutter slab (n=45) or transverse pinning (n=45). Outcomes of interest were the rate of fracture union, functional outcomes measured by the Quick DASH score, total active motion (TAM), total active flexion (TAF), and complication rates. Outcomes were assessed up to 12 months....
