Synopsis

60 patients, aged 16-65 years, undergoing elective knee arthroscopic surgery under general anesthesia received 30 mL of 0.25% bupivacaine and were randomized to receive either 1 mL of normal saline, fentany,l or tramadol. The combination treatments demonstrated superiority over the bupivacaine alone; furthermore, bupivacaine-fentanyl combination was better of the two combinations.
