75 patients, older than 18 years, scheduled to undergo TKA were randomized to one of the four wound closure techniques (described below). It was observed that use of staples was the quickest method followed by the adhesives, with the subcuticular suturing being the slowest of all the methods. Reduced procedure time can be directly translated into reduced intraoperative cost.
