Synopsis
90 patients scheduled for total hip arthroplasty were randomized to receive either a periarticular injection at the end of the procedure and sustained-release oxycodone (10mg) for postoperative analgesia, or patient-controlled epidural analgesia with bupivacaine and hydromorphone.
