Synopsis
90 patients scheduled to undergo total knee arthroplasty (TKA) with continuous femoral nerve block were randomized to receive either intravenous parecoxib or placebo administration. Visual analog scale (VAS) pain scores were assessed at 4, 8, 12, 24, and 36 hours. Findings demonstrated significantly lower pain over 36 hours postoperatively in the parecoxib group as compared to the placebo group.
