Synopsis
69 patients who were scheduled to undergo total knee arthroplasty (TKA) were randomized to receive TKA through a midline or an anterolateral skin incision. The results from 1 year follow-up indicated that patients who received an anterolateral incision displayed a smaller area of hypesthesia; however, clinical measures, such as range of motion, pain, and flexion, were similar between both groups.
