Synopsis
45 patients undergoing hemiarthroplasty for fractures of the proximal humerus were randomized to have their long head of the biceps (LHB) left intact (group 1) or to receive tenodesis (group 2). At a mean follow-up of 25.1 (group 1) or 22.6 months (group 2), the Constant score was significantly higher in group 2 than in group 1.
