Synopsis
120 patients with persistent long bone fracture non-unions were randomized to either receive recombinant bone morphogenic protein (rhBMP-7) or platelet-rich plasma (PRP). The results at a mean follow-up of 12 months indicated that rhBMP-7 had superior clinical and radiographic effectiveness compared to platelet-rich plasma.
