Synopsis
201 patients,>50 yr (219 hips), scheduled to be treated with a total hip arthroplasty (THA) were randomized to have either a polished (Ra 0.18 to 0.3 mm) or a precoated roughened (Ra 1.8 to 2.3 mm) cemented femoral component, both with similar geometry.
