48 patients with chronic refractory lateral epicondylitis, who had completed a course of physiotherapy and/or received corticosteroid injections, were randomized to receive placebo or botulinum toxin A at the distance of one-third the length of the forearm from the tip of the lateral epicondyle on the course of the posterior inter-osseus nerve.
