Synopsis
Sixty patients with malleolar fractures and distal tibiofibular joint (DTFJ) instability were randomized to receive either standard surgical fixation evaluated by radiographic imaging (n=30) or fixation guided by direct visualization of anatomical landmarks via anterior capsulotomy (n=30).
