Synopsis
Sixty patients undergoing spine surgery were randomized to receive either tranexamic acid (TXA; n=30) or a placebo (n=30). Outcomes of interest included hemoglobin level, intraoperative blood loss, drainage volume, total blood loss, units of blood transfused, operative time, incidence of adverse events, and length of stay.
