Synopsis
In this meta-analysis, thirteen randomized controlled trials comparing myofascial release to a control group were included. Outcomes of interest included pain on a Visual Analog Scale (VAS), range of motion (ROM; flexion, extension, cervical rotation, lateral flexion), Pain Pressure Thresholds (PPT) of the trapezius and suboccipital muscles, and Neck Disability Index (NDI).
