Synopsis

Eighty patients diagnosed with lateral patellar compression syndrome were randomized to receive either arthroscopic lateral retinacular release (n=40) or open release of the lateral retinaculum (n=40). The primary outcome of this trial was Lysholm Knee Function (LKSS) scores at 2 & 6 weeks, 6 months, and 1 & 2 years, post-operatively.
