Synopsis
2970 patients with hip fractures were randomized to receive either accelerated surgery (n=1487) or standard of care (n=1483). The co-primary outcomes of interest included mortality and a composite outcome of major complications (i.e., mortality, non-fatal myocardial infarction, stroke, venous thromboembolism, sepsis, pneumonia, life-threatening bleeding, and major bleeding) after 90 days.
