Synopsis
32 patients with a syndesmosis injury following ankle fracture and underwent syndesmotic screw fixation were randomized to either screw removal or screw retention after 3 months. Patients were assessed for functional outcome on the Foot and Ankle Outcome Score (FAOS) after 1 year.
