Synopsis
102 patients scheduled for reverse total shoulder arthroplasty were randomized to intravenous administration of either tranexamic acid or placebo. Patients were assessed to total blood loss, postoperative blood loss after 24 and 48 hours, hemoglobin drop after 24 and 48 hours, and transfusion requirement.
