Synopsis
48 patients scheduled for total knee arthroplasty were randomized to standard analgesia, with or without the addition of lidocaine patches postoperatively. Outcomes included pain, opioid consumption, knee range of motion, quality of life, and the incidence of complications. Follow-up was scheduled for 24hr, 48hr, 72hr, 14 days and 28 days after surgery.
