Synopsis

528 patients with end-stage medial compartment knee osteoarthritis were randomized to undergo either unicompartmental knee arthroplasty or total knee arthroplasty. Patients were followed for 1-year postoperatively. Results demonstrated significantly greater function on the Oxford Knee Score and satisfaction among those who underwent UKA in comparison to TKA.
