Synopsis
64 patients with osteoarthritis undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA) were randomized to undergo the procedure with or without the use of a thigh tourniquet. The purpose of the study was to examine whether no tourniquet use had a significant effect on knee-extension strength when compared to tourniquet use.
