Synopsis

52 patients undergoing 54 cemented cruciate substituting PFC modular total knee arthroplasties were randomized to either a fixed bearing (FB) or a rotating platform (RP) implant. Patients randomized to receive a rotating platform (RP) showed equivalent outcomes when compared to a fixed bearing (FB). However, patients with rotating platform demonstrated increased activity levels.
