Synopsis
4 randomized control trials were included in this meta-analysis to compare plating and intramedullary nailing (IMN) in the treatment of distal tibial fractures. Malunion was significantly reduced in the plating group compared to the IMN group, but nonunion, delayed union and incidence of infections were similar these treatment options.
