112 patients with chronic plantar fasciitis that was unresponsive to conservative treatment for at least 6 months were randomized to assess whether 3 applications of 1000 impulses of low-energy shock waves (Group I) led to improved clinical outcomes in comparison to 3 applications of 10 impulses of low-energy shock waves (Group II).
