Synopsis
539 patients receiving a total knee arthroplasty were randomly divided into either a fixed bearings or mobile bearings group. Results indicated that there was no difference in the functionality (assessed using the Oxford Knee Score), quality of life (assessed using the Short-Form-12 and the EuroQoL 5D) or the total healthcare costs at 5 years between the two groups.
