Synopsis

Fifty-two patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty were randomized to receive either combined femoral and sciatic nerve blocks (FNB-SNB) or combined femoral nerve block with periarticular and intra-articular anesthetic infiltration (FNB-PI), in order to measure average morphine consumption 24 hours and 48 hours post-operatively.
