18 healthy volunteers were randomized to receive cryotherapy with either no dressing, thin adhesive dressing, or bulky dressings. Over 2 hours, the bulky dressing group demonstrated a significantly smaller decrease in mean skin temperature than the no dressing and thin adhesive dressing groups.
