60 patients undergoing ACL reconstruction were randomized to receive surgery with conventional instrumentation or with an image-free navigation system. Over 24 months, patients who received surgery with the navigated system demonstrated improved accuracy in tunnel placement as well as decreased variability in radiographic measurements of laxity.
