Synopsis

91 adult patients who were scheduled to undergo total hip arthroplasty were randomized to receive periarticular infiltration of 150 mg levobupivacaine or a placebo. Post-operative results indicated that self-reported pain scores and rates of nausea showed no significant differences between the two groups.
