Synopsis
100 patients with articular cartilage defects of the knee were randomized to treatment with autologous chondrocyte implantation (ACI) or mosaicplasty to compare survival rates and functional results over a long-term. At a minimum of 10 year follow-up, the ACI group had significantly greater survival rates and better scores on the modified Cincinnati test.
