Synopsis
160 elderly patients with displaced subcapital femoral neck fractures were randomized to receive either cemented or uncemented hemiarthroplasty. The results from 2 year follow-up indicated that patients in both groups did not significantly differ in regards to VAS pain scores; however, it was found that there was a significantly higher number of patients with subsidence in the uncemented group.
