11 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were included in this review, which investigated the effect of electromagnetic stimulation in long bone fracture healing. A pooled analysis of union rate in delayed and nonunions demonstrated a nonsignificant relative risk favouring electromagnetic stimulation (RR 1.76; p=0.15), which was mirrored by qualitative analyses from two supplementary trials.
