Synopsis
40 patients scheduled for elective cemented total hip arthroplasty (THA) were randomized to one of two fixation methods. The intervention group underwent cemented THA using a rim cutter to provide a shelf for the prosthetic flange. The control underwent cemented THA without the use of a rim cutter.
