Synopsis
Fifty-eight patients with acute long bone fractures were randomized to receive either low-dose ketamine (LDK; n=31) or intravenous morphine (MOR; (n=27). The primary outcome of interest was the reduction in pain as measured by the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) from baseline. Secondary outcomes included adverse effects and the need for rescue analgesia.
