Synopsis
100 patients with musculoskeletal trauma were randomized to receive either a conservative transfusion strategy (transfusion at hemoglobin <5.5 g/dL; n=50) or a liberal transfusion strategy (transfusion at hemoglobin <7.0 g/dL; n=49).
