Synopsis

15 randomized controlled trials (1023 patients) comparing hyaluronic acid against either a control, physical therapy, or corticosteroids for the treatment of glenohumeral joint arthritis were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis. The primary outcome of interest was pain on a Normalized Pain Scale. Pain favored hyaluronic acid when compared with physical therapy and corticosteroids....
