Synopsis
14 randomized controlled trials (484 patients) comparing aquatic exercise against a control were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis. Outcomes of interest included pain on a Normalized Pain Scale (NPS), normalized disability scale, and Short-Form-36 (SF-36) physical and mental component score. All outcomes favored the aquatic exercise group when compared to the control.
