Synopsis

105 patients with a displaced intracapsular femoral fracture were randomized to undergo either hip arthroplasty (n=52) or hemiarthroplasty (n=53). Outcomes of interest included operative time, total blood loss, hip pain scores, mobility scale, and social dependency score, and the incidence of adverse events.
