Synopsis
Thirty patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty (THA) were randomized to receive either a combined nerve block (CNB; n=15) or periarticular infiltration analgesia (PIA; n=15). Outcomes of interest included pain on a visual analog scale (VAS) at 6-hour intervals to 48 hours, time to rescue analgesia, number of rescue analgesia doses, time to complete sensory and motor recovery, and complications....
