In this meta-analysis, eight randomized controlled trials were included which assessed surgical treatment against conservative management for patients with ankle fractures. Outcomes of interest included Olerud and Molander ankle fracture scores (OMAS), and 12-item Short-Form (SF-12) mental and physical scores.
