Synopsis

Four randomized controlled trials were included in this meta-analysis which aimed to evaluate the effect of platelet-rich plasma injections in addition to eccentric exercises relative to saline injections in addition to eccentric exercise. Pooled results on VISA-A scores, tendon thickness, and color Doppler activity demonstrated no significant differences between PRP and saline injections groups.
