Synopsis

82 patients with symptomatic knee osteoarthritis were randomized to either treatment with a topical flaxseed oil preparation or to placebo. Patients were to apply allocated treatment three times daily for 6 weeks. The outcome measure was the Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS).
