Synopsis
61 patients scheduled for foot and ankle surgery under spinal anesthesia were randomized to either receive or not receive regional anesthesia with an ankle block. Patients were assessed for pain scores at 6, 24, and 48 hours after surgery, time to onset of pain, and comfort of their first night's sleep after surgery.
