Effectiveness of Self-Care Education for Chronic Neck Pain: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

This systematic review and meta-analysis included eleven randomized controlled trials involving patients with chronic neck pain, comparing self-care education interventions to control interventions without educational components. Pooled outcomes of interest were pain, disability, kinesiophobia, and catastrophization. The meta-analysis showed significant improvements in these outcomes in favor of self-care interventions. These results suggest that self-care education interventions are effective in improving both physical and psychological aspects of chronic neck pain, suggesting their integration into management strategies for this patient population.
