A prospective randomized study comparing arthroscopic single-bundle and double-bundle posterior cruciate ligament reconstructions preserving remnant fibers
Am J Sports Med. 2011 Mar;39(3):474-80. doi: 10.1177/0363546510382206. Epub 2010 Nov 2360 patients were randomized to compare the clinical and radiographic outcomes of posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) reconstruction using either double-bundle (DB) or single-bundle (SB) technique. Patients received either one of these two procedures and were assessed at the minimum 2 year follow-up. Results indicated that the DB technique led to better posterior stability when compared to the SB method; however, the DB technique could not be considered as a superior option as there were no differences in any of the subjective measurements.
