Trends in Hand & Wrist: A Detailed Data Report Powered by OE M.I.N.D.
Hand and wrist conditions are common and often painful. OE M.I.N.D. captures this breadth; nearly 47,000 patients across 288 RCTs, covering 38 conditions and more than 260 treatments. Fracture-related evidence dominates reader interest, along with pain and osteoarthritis, while cast immobilization, volar locking plates, and external fixation remain the most frequently viewed treatments. Orthopaedic surgeons—both early-career and highly experienced—represent the largest share of readers. Trial activity is strong, with almost 600 ongoing studies worldwide, many centered on carpal tunnel syndrome, fractures, and osteoarthritis. Since 2000, companies such as DePuy Synthes, Stryker, and Smith & Nephew have shaped much of the academic landscape, reflecting continued investment in devices and techniques for the upper extremity.
