Platelet Rich Plasma Update: Continued Interest and a Call for Change Including Insights from OE Mind and OE Vision

Despite growing popularity, the true effectiveness of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) remains uncertain. OE M.I.N.D. data show 209 trials completed and 46 ongoing, with most studies focusing on knee osteoarthritis (KOA). While some trials show benefit over placebo, findings are inconsistent and reporting often lacks detail on PRP formulation. Machine learning tools reveal declining interest among high-engagement users. Experts call for more rigorous, standardized RCTs to clarify who benefits, how, and why.
