Synthetic CBD for Psoriatic Arthritis and Hand Osteoarthritis .
This study has been identified as potentially high impact.
OE's AI-driven High Impact metric estimates the influence a paper is likely to have by integrating signals from both the journal in which it is published and the scientific content of the article itself.
Developed using state-of-the-art natural language processing, the OE High Impact model more accurately predicts a study's future citation performance than journal impact factor alone.
This enables earlier recognition of clinically meaningful research and helps readers focus on articles most likely to shape future practice.
Cannabidiol treatment in hand osteoarthritis and psoriatic arthritis: a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial
Pain. 2022 01-Jun;():. 10.1097/j.pain.0000000000002466One hundred and thirty-six patients with psoriatic arthritis and hand arthritis were randomized to receive either synthetic cannabidiol as an add-on to conventional pain management (n=70) or conventional pain management (n=66). The primary outcome of this trial was to determine the pain intensity using a Visual Analog Scale (VAS) after 12 weeks of treatment. Other outcomes such as Hospital Anxiety and Depression (HADS), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Pain Catastrophizing Scale (PCS), Health Assessment Questionnaire Disability Index, and Stanford Expectation of Treatment Scale were recorded. The results of this trial showed no significant differences between the two treatment groups in regard to pain scores, anxiety, depression, disability, pain catastrophizing, and sleep quality.
